Dharani "Generation of Wisdom"

    I prostrate before the All-Knowing!
    So I heard it once.
The Blessed one named Bodhisattva Dhishana was on the slope of Mount Meru. Surrounded by all the sons of the gods that are on Mount Meru, he explained the Teaching to those who stood before him.
Then the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva Manjushri (Possessing a youthful body), folding his palms together, addressed the Bodhisattva Dhishana:
Blessed! Living beings are dull and [possess] wisdom, wise and weak [in wisdom]. I ask you to explain the Dharani "Generation of Wisdom" for the sake of those whose minds are not clear! Explain!

hūṁ picu picu prajñā vardhani jvala jvala medhā vardhani dhiri dhiri buddhi vardhani svāhā

Anyone who will comprehend this dharani, read, ask, come up with questions, will hear only one of the few logs - at the same time they will [possess] great wisdom. Anyone who repeats this knowledge seven times over the hands filled with [water], the root of the field [of wisdom], every day for six months - drinking at sunrise, will comprehend [keeping in mind] a thousand thousand stanzas. If you drink once, you will perceive [keeping in mind] five hundred [stanzas]. If only one day, then wisdom will increase accordingly. With just a proclamation in one day, you will [have] memory and good understanding.
This completes the dharani "Generation of Wisdom".

    I bow to the All-Knowing!
    So I heard it once.
The Blessed One was in the palace of the bodhisattva Manibhadra, the great head of the Yakshas of the city of Mani. Then the great head of the yakshas, Manibhadra, addressed the Blessed One with the words:
The Blessed One was in the palace of the bodhisattva Manibhadra, the great head of the Yakshas of the city of Mani. Then the great head of the yakshas, Manibhadra, addressed the Blessed One with the words: Blessed! If a bhikkhu or bhikkhuni, upasaka or upasika with the [appropriate] intention repeats three times at night and three times during the day [the spell] of my heart-essence, then he will constantly follow me! We will keep me from the yakshas at a distance of 100 yojanas! Fully realize all thoughts!
This is not due to mistakes due to desire, but if there is hunger or thirst, then drink and food, jewelry, seeds, treasures and gold will be granted.

tadyathā hili maṇibhadra hili hili maṇibhadra kili maṇibhadra kili kili maṇibhadra kuru ma ṇibhadra kuru kuru maṇibhadra turu maṇibhadra turu turu maṇibhadra curu maṇibhadra curu curu maṇibhadra suru maṇibhadra suru suru maṇibhadra oṁ ehyehi tiṣṭha tiṣṭhame sādhaya svāhā tadyathā pūtane pūtane surume sumāte subante supūṣya hili mili svāhā

ārya-jambhalaśrī-nāma-dhāraṇī

Dharani of the noble Jambhalashri

    So I heard it once.
Blessed Vajrapani was surrounded by many yaksas in the holy place of Adakavati. At this time, the Lord of the Secret say to the King of the Yakshas, Jambhalashri:
I ask you to show you the mantra of knowledge and the essence of your life force in order to calm the suffering and poverty of sentient beings! I will be given a blessing!
    Then Jambhalashri said:
Master of the Intimate, Blessed One! I have to clarify the mantra of knowledge for the pacification of the suffering of sentient beings. [May they] drop suffering and find happiness! Wanting to complete two great accumulations, let them fill in and repeat this mantra of knowledge so that your own body:

nama ārya jaṁbhala mahā jaṁbhala tadyathā rararara kunu kunu khunu khunu gunu gunu sapa sapa kara kara mahā viraram mahā karado maraṣa haraṣa tuma sarva satvā nānca svāhā

The Blessed Lord of the Secret repeated this mantra and repeated the mantra seven times over the blue thread. If, tying a knot at each repetition, you entangle your shoulder, then you will achieve the desired and no harm, which is good. A medicine composed of incense, sandalwood, fir, and the catarrh plant should also be bestowed.

nama ārya jaṁbhala namo dantāya danti śvarāya ākarṣaya akarmita danti śarvāya varma karduniya sarva satva hitajiti mama danta namaḥ variyaśa samaya ākarśa svāhā

This mantra should be repeated seven times for purification-purity. Then follows the realization of the secret essence of the heart. As before, make offerings to the Three Jewels and the Lord of the Secret, Vajrapani. Having done this, then pronounce everything, starting with your own name. By doing this, you will realize the acquisition of material wealth and everything you desire, and happiness will be given. Then I will repeat this jewel of wish fulfillment, the secret mantra. If you exercise for [the practice of] the deity of meditation, you will achieve all that is necessary and desired, which will be good.
Then the king of the yakshas, Jambhalashri, bestowed upon the glorious Vajrapani a similar jewel of wish fulfillment with his own essence-heart:

nama ārya jaṁbhala mahā jaṁbhala tadyathā simi simi sumu sumu ścaṇḍa ścaṇḍa cara cara sara sara kara kara kiri kiri kuru kuru muru muru curu curu sadaya dama mama nidama ananta dānate svāhā ārya jaṁbhala svāhā dhantāya svāhā manoratha varipūra kāya svāhā

Then the glorious yaksha, who owns the yakshas, said to those around him [the mantra] of his own essence-heart:

    oṁ jaṁbhala maṇi bhadrāya svāhā
    oṁ jaṁbhala pūrṇa bhadrāya svāhā
    oṁ jaṁbhala dhanadāta bhadrāya svāhā
oṁ jaṁbhala mahā dhana dāta bhadrāya svāhā
    oṁ jaṁbhala civi kuṇḍali svāhā
    oṁ jaṁbhala kili mālini svāhā
    oṁ jaṁbhala mukhendrāya svāhā
    oṁ jaṁbhala jalendra bhadrāya svāhā

Then the Sovereign of the Intimate One said:
Master of Wealth! Everyone who keeps this dharani of yours, ties [around the body], asks, or reads - happiness will be given in accordance with aspirations.
Then the Lord of the Yakshas said to the Lord of the Secret:
    This is true!
Walking around three times in accordance with the teaching, he sat down.

Thus ends the dharani of the noble Jambhalashri.

ārya-maṇi-bhadra-nama-dhāraṇī

Dharani of the noble Manibhadra

I prostrate before the Three Jewels!
    So I heard it once.
The Blessed One was in the aram of the garden of the prince of Kosala, Anathapindaka, in Shravasti. Then Manibhadra, the great head of the yaksas, approached the Blessed One. Approaching, bowing his head at the feet of the Blessed One, he sat down in front of him. Standing before him, the great head of the yakshas, Manibhadra, addressed the Blessed One with the following words:
If any noble monk or nun, virtuous layman or laywoman repeats this heart-essence every day in three periods of time, they will see that they are constantly following me. [By this] they will accomplish whatever they wish. They will find the given food, clothing, jewelry, gold, precious [things], seeds, silver. [Through] the essence of this will also make everything come true. This will also bring about the subordination of all beings. They will attain achievement even if there are no various deeds to be accomplished. They will not be touched by those who are in conflict.

nama ratna trayāya na mo maṇi bhadrāya mahā yakṣa sena pataye syād yathedan hili maṇibhadra hili hili maṇibhadra kili maṇibhadra kili kili maṇibhadra cili maṇibhadra cili cili maṇibhadra culu maṇibhadra culu culu maṇibhadra curu maṇibhadra curu curu maṇibhadra turu maṇibhadra turu turu maṇibhadra kuru maṇibhadra kuru kuru maṇibhadra suru maṇibhadra suru suru maṇi bhadra sarva arthaṁ mesā dhaya svāhā tadyathā pūtane supūtane surume sumāti surāthe sasma pate hilike hila kāli pārne siddhe bhadra hili hili svāhā ehi koniṣke ehi soniṣke ehi goniṣke svāhā

If you repeat it seven times, you will accomplish [everything]. This is the ritual of it. When on the fifteenth day of the waxing moon you carry out the [ritual] of purification, in three periods of time, burn incense from fragrant aloe. If you carry out the proclamation [dharani] seven thousand times, you will find gold.
Thus ends the dharani of the noble Manibhadra.

ārya-aṣṭa-maṇḍalaka-nāma-mahāyāna-sūtra

Noble [teaching]. Great Vehicle Sutra "Eight mandalas"

I prostrate before all the Enlightened Ones and Bodhisattvas!
    So I heard it once.
The Blessed One stayed with many hundreds of thousands of myriads of bodhisattvas at the place of the noble Avalokiteshvara on Mount Potalaka.
Then a bodhisattva-mahasattva named Ratnagarbha-chandakanti, who was surrounded by bodhisattvas, got up from the seat. Standing up, he threw a piece of dharmic clothing over his shoulder. Putting the knee of his right foot on the ground and bent down, joining his palms together, which were directed towards the Blessed One. Having done so, he said the following to the Blessed One:
Blessed one for fulfilling the predictions requested by the petitioners! If you can do this for me, then I ask about myself the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the truly perfect Enlightened One!
He said so and the Blessed One answered the Bodhisattva-mahasattva Ratnagarbha-chandakanti as follows:
Ratnagarbha-chandakanti! Ask whatever you want. Thanks to your questions and predictions, I will rejoice in your attitude.
He said so and the bodhisattva-mahasattva Ratnagarbha-chandakanti said the following to the Blessed One:
Blessed! If any son or daughter of the [noble] family wishes to compose the eight mandalas, what should they do?
    The Blessed One replied:
The son of the [noble] family! For the benefit of many beings, the happiness of many beings and the attainment of the incomparable primordial wisdom of sentient beings that are born in three times, you, the son of the [noble] family, you have nurtured courage! Favorable! Good! Good!
The son of the [noble] family! Therefore, only by repetition of any of the hearts will you purify the five boundless [bad deeds] and you will also acquire all the actual attainments-siddhis. Hear the heart of the eight bodhisattvas!

oṁ mahā hūṁ mahā vīra svāhā

With this heart, offerings are made to the Blessed in the middle.

oṁ hrī hūṁ padma pri ya svāhā

This is the heart of the noble Avalokiteshvara.

    oṁ mai hārāṇa svāhā

This is the heart of Maitreya.

    oṁ ākāśa garbhāya svāhā

[This is the heart of] Akashagarbha.

oṁ svā hri rā ya jva svāhā

This is the heart of Samantabhadra.

    oṁ kuru bha naraha svāhā

This is the heart of Vajrapani.

oṁ śrī aṁ raṁ ga svāhā

This is the heart of Manjushri.

    oṁ nisvāraṁbha svāhā

This is the heart of Sarvanivaranavishkambin.

oṁ kṣi ti ha rājā svāhā

This is the heart of Ksitigarbha.
If the son or daughter of the [noble] family repeats once before the mandala this heart of eight bodhisattvas, possessing the [essence] of the Tathagata, then all the goals of that [daughter or son] will be realized. He will quickly become enlightened, [having] unsurpassed, truly perfect enlightenment.
The Blessed One said so. These bodhisattvas-mahasattvas rejoiced and praised what the Blessed One had said.
Thus ends the noble [teaching] sutra of the Great Vehicle "Eight Mandalas."
Translated and verified: Indian teacher Jinamitra, Danashila, translator-proofreader Bende Yeshe De. It was also drafted in a new language. Translated by Lama Karma Paljor (O.E. Filippov).
