mahābala-sādhana
Mahabala practice
I prostrate before the blessed Mahābhāla!
Perform meditation on emptiness [according to] the ritual that was explained earlier. Then from the syllable hūṁ on a white lotus and the Sun, the Mahābhāla appears. With one face and four arms, red in all the members of the body. Brown hair surging upwards. Bound with snakes. First right hand holds a white cudgel. Second right hand holds a white drum. The first left hand is presented in the form of a salute. In the second left hand is a harness together with a [sage] scorpion. Possesses a skirt made of the skin of a tiger. Is beautiful and adorned with various snake ornaments. Possesses legs where the left one is extended. The fangs of the mouth are clenched and light and mandala of the second [mudra]. When you yourself become perfect as samayasattva, make oneness together with the jnyanasattva. When you do so, visualize your head being adorned with Amitabha.
Then repeat the mantra. It is as follows:
oṁ mahābala svāhā
This is how the practice of Mahabala is completed.
