cunde-sādhanaṁ
Chunda practice
I prostrate before the noble Chunde!
I bow down before the true Victorious One and great as the sublime, the goddess Chunde!
Bowing down, I proclaim the compressed practice of her, which [gives] the full and speedy attainment of siddhi.
First, every mantrik in his own heart in the midst of the Moon [presents] a seed-slog of three groups. In the first, it is adorned with the first five [syllables]. Due to this is adorned with half of the Moon and bhindu. Possesses a garland of rays of light of the autumn moon. Beautiful by virtue of the blessing of all Enlightened Ones and bodhisattvas. Behold the Blessed One who has emerged from these rays of light, guru-teachers, Enlightened Ones, and so forth. While gazing, make real mudras and offerings with mantras:
oṁ vajra puṣpe hūṁ
oṁ vajra dhūpe hūṁ
oṁ vajra dīpe hūṁ
oṁ vajra gandhe hūṁ
oṁ vajra naividye hūṁ
Then say:
I take refuge in the Three Jewels! I repent individually of all harmful things! I rejoice in the virtue of beings! I adhere to the enlightenment of the Enlightened One with my mind!
Then, realizing the prayer-wish following earlier, with the help of this mantra perform meditation on the absence of self and the emptiness of all phenomena:
oṁ śūnyatā jñāna vajra svabhāva ātma ko haṁ
Then visualize all three spheres [of the universe] without exception as an aspect of the syllable-seed.
oṁ svabhāva śuddhaḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho haṁ
Then meditate that from the syllable-seed said earlier, you appear as the essence of the glorious goddess Chunda. [In color] like the autumn moon, with four arms. The right hand [in the mudra] of bestowing the highest. The left hand holds a lotus marked with a book. With her two hands she holds an alms bowl. Adorned with all ornaments and standing on the lotus and the moon. Meditate thus.
Later, carry out the binding of the sage. Having realized the protection for the heart, hairs in the interbrow, neck and the top of the head, carry out recitation.
There is such a mudra for this purpose. Bring together the palms of both hands. Having joined, both index fingers intertwine with the middle of the middle fingers. Both thumbs intertwine on the sides. This is the Chunda mudra.
The mantra is as follows:
oṁ cale cule cunde svāhā
This is how the practice of Chunda is completed.
