cunde-sādhanaṁ

Chunda practice

    I bow before Chunde!
First, from the syllable-seed cuṁ on the disk of the moon in the heart [appear] multicolored rays of light. [When the syllable] becomes perfect, gaze at the teacher-gurus before you, the Enlightened Ones and bodhisattvas. While doing so, make offerings, etc. Do this with the mantra:
    oṁ vajra puṣpe hūṁ
[And use other mantras of offerings].
Then recite the stanzas of taking refuge in the Three [Jewels] and so forth. Then meditate on emptiness:
oṁ śūnyatā jñāna vajra svābhāva ātma ko haṁ
    Say this.
    Then [say:]
oṁ! Chundu, arisen and cu! [In color] is like the autumn moon. With four arms, adorned with all ornaments. The right [hand is in the mudra] of bestowing the highest.  The left hand holds a lotus marked with a volume [of teachings]. The remaining hands are holding an alms bowl. Sits cross-legged on the lotus and the moon as sattva.
    Do this kind of meditation.
Later, touch the heart, the interbrow in the middle of the forehead, the neck, and the top of the head with wisdom. [Make contact] and carry out the defense. Having done so, perform recitation:
    oṁ cale cule cunde svāhā
Such is the wisdom for her. Join the palms of both hands. Connect, bending, the index fingers with the middle of the middle fingers. Place the thumbs at the sides.
This concludes the practice of Chunde.
Translated by Lama Karma Paljor (Filippov O.E.).
