The Practice of Prajñā-pāramitā
I prostrate myself before Prajñā-pāramitā!
One should sit on a comfortable seat in a place that is pleasant to the mind. Having done so, the yogi should be filled with love and kindness. The mantra should be recited three times:
oṁ śūnyatā jñāna vajra svabhāva ātma ko haṁ
Saying this, meditate with your mind on the emptiness of all bodily forms made of matter, whether stable or moving. [Comprehend] them as corresponding to sleep and dreams. From the syllable paṁ, a lotus appears. The yellow syllable dhīḥ appears, sitting on a seat made of [lotus] and the moon. Through it [appears] the essence, the Blessed One, the two-armed Prajñā-pāramitā. She holds multicolored clothes and is adorned with various [jewels]. She truly possesses the wise explanation of the Teaching. She has an expression [on her face] with a single smile. She sits correctly with her legs crossed in the vajra posture. She holds the lotus with the volume on her left side. At the top of her head, neck, and heart are [discs] of the moon, on which are three essences: oṁ āḥ hūṁ. [In the middle] between the syllables āḥ and hūṁ, the yellow syllable dhiḥ [appears] on the moon. Meditate on the rays of light [emanating] from it.
Then meditate on [the goddess with] a yellow body. A yogi of relative level should meditate on Prajñā-pāramitā. One who possesses the absolute level speaks of the comprehensible body as the great essence of wisdom. Everyone, through yoga and the stages of actual enlightenment, appears as Victorious.
Meditate on the aspect of pure mind, which is like the autumn moon. Multicolored, possessing both movement and constancy, it is outwardly like the example of space. All thoughts are empty and arise naturally. Emptiness also has no form. Nothing is completely hidden by form, sounds, smells, tastes, touches, etc., thoughts about the perceiver and the perceived. It arises from conditions that are not grasped by the mind. It abides as truly perfect enlightenment. [It represents] the very level of the omniscient mind.
This is the mantra for recitation for it:
oṁ prajñe mahā prajñe śruti smṛiti vijāye dhīḥ svāhā
When the essence of meditation on Prajñā-pāramitā is formed, all spiritual merit is attained! May all worlds, without exception, appear as Mother Prajñā-pāramitā!
Thus ends the practice of Prajñā-pāramitā.
