maitreya-sādhana
Maitreya Practice
I prostrate myself before the noble Maitreya!
Performing the rituals that were proclaimed earlier, [imagine] the yellow syllable maiṁ above the disc of the moon. When it is complete, [it transforms] into the noble protector Maitreya, who sits on a multicolored lotus. He has three faces and four arms. The right and left faces are black and white. The color of his body is like gold. Two arms form the mudra of explaining the Teaching. The second right arm [forms the mudra] of giving the highest gift. The second left arm holds a bunch of golden naga flowers. Meditate clearly on yourself as perfect and beautiful, appearing with divine adornments and clothing.
Form the mudra. Interlace the fingers of both hands. Place the index fingers on the middle of the thumbs. Having done so, completely tie the flower. Then recite:
oṁ maitreya svāhā
Thus ends the sadhana of Maitreya.
