hayagrīva-sādhana
The Practice of Hayagriva
I prostrate myself before the glorious Hayagriva!
Performing] the rituals that were proclaimed earlier, on a multicolored lotus and the Sun [appears] perfect primordial wisdom in the form of the red syllable haṁ. From it [appears] Hayagriva, with a red body, three faces, and eight arms. Each face has three eyes. The right and left faces are blue and white. Decorated with snakes. The feet are in a dancing pose. He looks with an angry gaze. The first face smiles, the tongue wiggles on the right face. On the left face, the fangs grab the lips. He has a tiger skin skirt. In the four right hands are a vajra, a club, the mudra of supreme giving, and a raised arrow. In the four left hands are the scorpion mudra, holding his own chest, holding a lotus, and raising a bow. The head is adorned with the Akshobhya diadem. Imagine this and [adhere to] the samadhi called “Jñānavajra Hayagrīva.”
Mantra for recitation:
oṁ haṁ hayagṛīva svāhā
This concludes the Hayagrīva practice composed by Acharya Chandragomi.
