jambhala-sādhana
Jambhala practice
I prostrate before the blessed noble Avalokiteshvara! I prostrate before the bodhisattva Jambhala!
If those who desire jewels wish to meditate, perform the rituals according to what is explained earlier. When one does so, in another [place appears] a seed-slog, the third of the third [row of syllables], yellow in color, appressed by a bindu and adorned with half of the moon. The protector that appears from thence is Jambhala with one countenance and two hands. The right one holds a vījapuri [vījapūri]. The left one holds a mongoose that rains jewels. Possesses the diadem of the five Enlightened Ones. Both feet press on the great treasury possessing the lotus head and the shell head. The rain of jewels etc. is pouring down. Visualize it in the same direction as your own house.
A garland of blue utpalas looks down, adorned with all ornaments. Meditate on yourself as Jambhala.
Then [compose] a mudra. When you compose the palms of your hands with empty space [inside], make a mudra when the third knuckles of the middle fingers are separated. With this mudra touch the heart, the interbrow in the middle of the forehead, the neck and the top of the head. And carry out recitation while doing so:
oṁ jaṁbhala jalendrāya svāhā
With this, one hundred and eight times offer the portion for the bestowal of water. When you have also made the offerings, perform recitation. Then undoubtedly appear as the great lord of jewels.
This is how the practice of the protector of Jambhala is completed.
