Ganapati's secret practice

    I prostrate myself before Yamantaka!
Since it is necessary to engender measureless spiritual merit in the practice of [attaining] the goal of beings without partiality, realize the attainment of [the level of] Ganapati. Since the summit of the high secret mountain Samripo, where the sounds of human speech cannot be heard, is the seat of the great deity, it should be understood as a place of practice. On top of the four-cornered copper mandala, draw a mandala that is like a vessel. As far as possible, place a karavadi [kara vadi]. Mixing with water and milk, fill [the vessel].  Put the crystal as the seed of budding. Mark with camphor, nutmeg and sandalwood. On top of this [place] the base for Ganapati's abode. Look in a northeastern direction and when [make] clay, mixing water and earth from the valley, make the bodily form of Ganapati. With one face, four arms, body red in color. Right hand with the grandfather of being, in the left hand is the sign of the nurse. Two hands holding a tree with powder made of a mixture of ashes. With two legs, straightened and tucked, possesses a tail. Is in a position with half crossed [legs]. Place this [image] on top of kara vade [kara vade]. In the heart of the empty [from within] monkey put one mother [syllable] and the secret mantra of ten syllables. In front of it place offerings and a good torma.
Then, when you appear like an entity, from the nature of emptiness [arise] the syllable gaḥ. Imagine that from it appears a monkey with four arms. Imagine that in its heart [is] the syllable gaḥ surrounded by the mantra. By rays of light from one's own heart, Ganapati is grasped and dissolves into bodily form. Bless the body, speech and mind.[Speak]:
hūṁ! The son that comes from the father and mother, the great deities from the divine land of pure nature! A jewel without impurities, that is adorned with the ornaments of strength and youth! With four arms thou travelest, encompassing, over the four continents! Thou transformest the hair of the white host of the gods! All hold thy symbol and on them rains jewels! When prompted by the flow of heartfelt engagements and invocation, I ask you to think [of me] with compassion and come!
oṁ gaṇapati ā karṣaya ja jaḥ
Then bring up clusters of offerings.
This is followed by repetition for approaching. On the moon in the heart of Ganapati [is] the root mantra surrounded by dharani. While reciting the mantra, perform the yoga of emanation and gathering.
oṁ gaṇa ma gaṇa jñāya svāhā oṁ ratna ratna ratna ratna gaṇapate ga ga ga ga ga ga ga ga ga gaṇapati svāhā
curu curu manu patra turu turu gha ghataya gaṇapati svāhā
Repeat for approach the root mantra and the dharani mantra for seven days. At this time [realize] the samādhi stage. Radiating from oneself light and clusters of offerings, offer to the bodily form of Ganapati. From Ganapati's body emanate rays of light and collect the essence of the jewels of the three thousand [worlds]. Having collected, enter the countenance of the great deity Ganapati. Dissolving within, it drips onto the secret [place]. Imagine that the vessel below fills up. Form liquid in the belly at the time of [the appearance of] liquid in the vessel.
Then associate with deeds. Realize purification in the acts of the chakras, the organs of man and woman. Compose the grandfather of being from copper. Bring the male organ into the abdomen. After the root mantra, perform the action mantra. The change of countenance in the lower part should be understood. For three days, associate with acts that are like this. Adorn the grandfather of existence with various silks. Look at the earth and those around you. If the servants on earth appear, the goddesses will gather.
Also, for the female organ naranu [naranu], for three days repeat the mantras of deeds. If having made the ascent to the top of the pika, one arrives at the level of gathering beings, then deities will be gathered. If there be such a thing, you will gather the minds of all men, buddhi like the beautiful Indra. Having gathered, will exercise perfect veneration. Such is the mantra for delighting the mind:
oṁ gana ma gaṇa jñāya svāhā
oṁ ba ba se se khaṅ khaṅ yer yer rab rab ghurmi hasa maṅ khami – Собрание существ! vaśaṁ kuruye svāhā
Such is the yoga for the acts of the chakra. On the surface of the copper mandala that stands in front, place four arrows. On them [draw] the eight chakras. Imagine that with iron hooks of light rays from the chakras you are capturing a country, a city, a king, and an assembly of ministers who have no strength of their own. [For] three days [emit] rays of mantra light. This is the yoga of the acts of subjugation of the three worlds.
Then, when you have offered the torma, perform the hymn, the prayer of patience. Jnyanasattva goes away, samayasattva dissolves and becomes hidden, not visible to people. When the time of the constellation Pushya comes, make offerings, chant hymns, and offer tormas. If you have diligence in such things, you will realize any thoughts and the desirable things of the mind will descend in the form of rain.
May through all the virtue of realizing this, I enter the practice [path] of enlightenment! May by entering, I realize the goals of sentient beings!
Thus concludes the practice of Ganapati with the head of a monkey, composed by Pandita Amoghavajra, who attained the siddhis of glory.
Later translated by the preceptor Dipamkara Sri Jnyana and the translator Nagtsho Tsultrim Gyalwa. In external practice, Ganapati is a white white axe. In inner practice - a passionate vajra. In secret practice - possesses the head of a monkey. Additionally - a red Ganapati with twelve arms.
The cloud-light Ganapati, blue and four-armed, was bestowed upon me by Dharma guru Sri Bhadra.
Translated by Lama Karma Paljor (O.E. Filippov).
