Hymn to the noble goddess Tara
I prostrate before the holy noble Avalokiteshvara!
Goddess Tara! God of gods! Supreme of the three worlds! Subduing with great compassion, you are skilled in liberating the beings of the three realms!
In your essence, you are in the balance of sensation! You possess happiness even when you feel inadequate! You possess activity that destroys envy! Unrivaled in radiance like the sky!
You possess happiness by casting away thoughts of perceiving and perceiving! Because of the lotus water, you are like the passionless one! You are not concealed by the flaws of cyclic existence!
Unrivaled, that thou art pure in thine own nature! You completely cut off all disputes! [Possessing] perfection that is pleasing to the minds of beings! Thou possessest [good] body color, features, and marks!
Tara that possesses varied colors! [Thou possessest] the essence that destroys varied powers possessing utterly intolerable methods because of association with that which has arisen as great negative influences, that which arises from bhuta, diseases that arise from a collection [of causes], various kinds of failures, weapons, poisons, mantras of leading, that which has arisen from beast-heads!
Thou protectest from these great fears, such as the lion, the bull, the tiger and the snake, thieves and robbers, fire, water, devourers! I praise and prostrate myself before thee!
Thus concludes the hymn to the noble Tara.
