The uncontaminated text of the water-torma

I prostrate before [one possessing] great compassion!
Prepare the objects for water torma before you. When you do so, first act yourself in the yoga of the deity in accordance with the practice. When you do so, perform the blessing of the three, body, speech, and mind.
    Then say:
oṁ svabhāva śuddhaḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho haṁ
Imagine that the entire vessel and all the contents that do not relate to oneself [become] emptiness. Then imagine that from the nature of emptiness before you [appearing] in the vessels vertical green paṁ syllables. Imagine that once they become perfect, [appearing] as vessels made of various jewels. Bless the vessels.
As for the contents, imagine that within each vessel [is a liquid having] the nature of nectar, a green tree made of various medicines, a treasure vase composed of various jewels, [thrown over] various garments in the form of silk, and so forth.
This green medicinal tree - held on perfect roots. Leaves are good, good branches spread wide. Possesses the perfection of many flowers and fruits. Picture it like this.
When you visualize, on the trunk of this green tree, visualize according to the sequence “oṁ āḥ hūṁ ho,” possessing the nature of body, speech, mind, and original wisdom. Purify the torma of the heart's engagements. By the rays of light emitted from these syllables, the heart engagements of all the Sugatas of the ten directions are induced. [After the realization of] the inducement, from their heart arises, being called forth, a watery stream of the nectar of primordial wisdom that is like the ocean of milk in color. Since it all becomes of one flavor, behold [it as] possessing the perfection of faculties with one flavor. In this way the torma of original wisdom is grasped.
Then from the practitioner's own place in the heart, [the place in the heart] of the practice, rays of light appear that are like a harness and an iron hook. Having appeared, grasp in the space before them their own forms of the five kinds of beings. The guests are summoned. And together with the mudra of vajra finger commitment or mudra [vajra] with three points, recite this mantra:
oṁ namaḥ sarva tathāgata avalokite sambhara sambhara hūṁ
Visualize that by this one attains equality without attachment to might.
oṁ ru ru spuru jvala tiṣṭha siddha locāne sarva artha sādhane svāhā
When you repeat seven times seven these two mantras, mark [with the breath]. Visualize that by means of the lower mantra one obtains that which corresponds to individual knowledge concerning all things in the thoughts of the veins of living beings, all desirable wealth, the five desirable qualities, and so forth. This is the bestowal of things.
Then [follows] the bestowal of teachings. Perform as much as possible and as much as you can [proclaim] the verses of the sutras proclaimed by [the Enlightened One] personally. Then perform a prayer of benediction.
Then [follow] the symbol of truth:
May by the truth of the Enlightened One, by the truth of the Teaching, by the truth of the Sangha, by the power of the secret mantra, the mantra of leading, mudra, samadhi, and the perfect purity of my thoughts, all harmful things of every living being be pacified! May opposing obstacles and harms then be discarded! Let there be abiding heart commitments!
    Then [follows] the prayer-wishing prayer:
The nectar of the holy Teaching is proclaimed from the countenance of the all-knowing! May the suffering of all beings who suffer because of the blazing fire of obscurations-kleshas be constantly appeased by means of this fresh flavor!
    Say thus, etc.
Then the veils of the body, speech, and mind of all living beings are purified. Having purified, the two accumulations are completed. Having attained great and extensive wealth, which corresponds to individual thoughts, abide in heart commitments. Having comprehended the non-consummated original wisdom, meditate on the benefits and dangers to oneself. [Do so, saying]:
    oṁ muḥ
Having said so, snap your fingers and watch the departures to their own places.
[Thus concludes] the pure text of the water torma, which realizes the unfoldment of all conditions and obstacles, and forms the complete gathering of all qualities.
Compiled by Acharya Dipamkara Sri Jnana. From this Acharya the petitioner requested the Kathyon Legpei Sherab as a branch of gathering accumulation. Having requested, he wrote down the text in the hail of Mangyul. Translated this pandita and the translator Tsultrim Gyalwa.
Translated by Lama Karma Paljor (O.E. Filippov).
