pratisarā-sādhana
The Practice of Pratisara
I prostrate before Mahā-Pratisara!
[While performing] the rituals described earlier, meditate on emptiness. Afterward, [visualize that] the moon disk emerges from the syllable a. On it [appears] the syllable “praṁ” in yellow. Multicolored rays of light emanate from there, fulfilling the aspirations of sentient beings. When this is perfected, I instantly manifest as the Blessed Mahā-Pratisara—yellow in color, with four faces, three eyes, and eight arms. The first face is yellow, the right one is white, the one behind is blue, and the left one is red. In her right hands, she holds a sword, a chakra, a trident, and an arrow. In her left hands, she holds a bow, an arkan, an axe, and a vajra. She sits playfully on a throne made of a multicolored lotus and a lunar disc. She is surrounded by a circle of red rays of light. She is adorned with all manner of ornaments. Multicolored garments are draped over her. Her head is adorned with the ngapungchhe tree [Tib. shing nga dpung chad] and various jewels.
When visualizing in this way, on the lunar discs within the body, speech, and mind, visualize the syllables oṁ, āḥ, and hūṁ as white, red, and blue, respectively. Then, in the center of the chest on the moon, visualize the syllable praṁ. Having done so, visualize yourself making offerings through the multicolored goddesses. Practice radiant meditation as much as possible and for as long as you are not tired. If you become tired, recite the mantra on the moon within your own heart, visualizing it as a string of pearl beads.
oṁ naṇi dhari vajri matā pratisāre hūṁ hūṁ phaṭ phaṭ svāhā
This is the mantra.
Thus ends the Pratisara practice.
